The Chief Wellbeing Officer Trilogy
Research and practice in health, wellbeing and performance
The Daily Reset
Originally published December 2021 with a substantially revised version released January 2024. After a firm focus on the world of work in my first two books in the series the intention here was to support the workplace and beyond. The keyword is utility and the book has a strong continual bias towards action. One page a day for every day of the year, one step forward for every day of our life. 12 themes for each month of the year: movement, habits, sleep, energy, mindfulness, nutrition, exercise, purpose, ways of working, resilience, leadership and community.

Chief Wellbeing Officer
Co-authored with Telefónica’s Chief Learning Officer Rory Simpson and published in 2018. The aim was to elevate wellbeing as a strategic concern and gave birth to the Chief Wellbeing Officer platform. The book aims to create a more human workplace and is perhaps less academic than my first book in the series. The keyword is compassion, and the book contains a practical guide for leaders to drive a more human culture.

Sustaining Executive Performance
Originally published by Financial Times Press in 2014 the ‘SEP’ program was the means of pioneering wellbeing and sustainable leadership teaching at some of the best ranked Business Schools worldwide, including IESE, IMD and CEIBS. The focus was on the sustainability of humans, 10 years before that became a more common term in the wellbeing field. I tried to show a strong business case for health at work with academic work in Corporate Social Responsibility linked to sustainability at the individual, business and society levels. The SEP model consists of five areas: MOVE, RECOVER, FOCUS, FUEL and TRAIN. I looked at system resilience, several years before the pandemic put that to the test around the world.
